My journey as a developer

I don’t have a CS degree, didn’t do well in math, and wasn’t interested in computers in high school. I joined college to take a Diploma in Human Resource. I ended up in an ICT class.

I never considered programming exciting for more than a few minutes. I found myself in an ICT class by chance, more than 20 different hackathons and boot camps, and in the next 3years, I went from an aspiring Human resource manager to a Lead developer for OmartKenya. I realized there are a lot of people in the same place I was 3 years ago.

People that feel confused, unsure, and wondering how to get started as developers. Doubting whether this is the right place or path for them. The sense of being an impostor is relentless. Lurking in your mind, waiting for just a sign of doubt.

I now have the courage to write this. A personal post with reflections on my journey so far I hope it will inspire more other young developers out there.
