is it worth it?

is it worth it?

I found myself in the industry by accident, I don’t remember how many times I’ve asked myself whether the struggle has been worth it. Constantly reading, learning — trying to keep up with the rapid pace of the tech industry.

I had always wanted to do something creative and this industry is one of the few welcoming people with non-traditional backgrounds.

The only industry that can give students with non-traditional backgrounds a good career, salary, and chance to do something meaningful.

I’ve considered quitting more than once because I wasn’t growing at the rate I wanted to. Each time I decided to stick around just a little longer, Each time I convinced myself to stay it got better and Once I got the hang of whatever I was having trouble with, it got so exciting. I just needed more time to learn than I imagined. “The more it challenged the more I felt like quitting and the more I wanted to solve it”. I’ve always found myself in a dilemma to quit or go on.

Slowly I got used to confusion and I stopped getting frustrated when things didn’t make sense. Complex products are not easy to build and staring at the screen in bewilderment is sometimes half the job.

The feeling that I will create applications and systems out of nothing became the another reason to stick around.

After a few years, I can say that programming turned into a passion of mine but it definitely wasn’t one at the start

1. lesson one

No matter how tough it gets don't quit, take a break come back when fresh
